![]() ![]() Friend has a large Kubota and works great for him. What I really like is it can suck the tracks in to 38" and out to 53". Don't have quick attach and don't feel I need one. Put a thumb on it and wouldn't be without it. I would like to get a mini that I can haul on a bumper pull tilted that is 81 inches between fenders and has 8000 pound axles. ![]() I guess I should have noted, I already have a 200lc, a 310 backhoe, and two skidloaders. I bought a60g Deere a couple years its about 14000 lbs and pull it with 2500 pickup with a Bumper pull hitch the trailer has 8000 lb axles under it and get one with a thumb on it No reason for a hydraulic quick attach setup unless you change buckets multiple times a day. A manual quick attach bucket setup is very handy and doesn’t add much weight. You will absolutely want a thumb! They do add some weight to the stick so keep that in mind, especially with a smaller machine. I have to haul mine on a heavy gooseneck trailer or semi low boy. My ideal would be a 200 class machine AND a small easy to use machine. unless you also plan to have a larger hoe in the future. But I would not want to go smaller then 10k. not sure what size machine that puts you at. But it’s going to be the width of the machine that puts you to deck over type of trailer. The reach is the biggest thing I like about mine over a smaller machine.įor pretty much mostly tile a 12-14k machine that you can move around with a heavy skid loader trailer would be great. I have a Komatsu PC78MR-6 it’s 19k lbs machine and it’s great for tile and general farm work. you just do them faster with a bigger machine. You need to decide how you are going to move it before you decide what size imo.Įxcavators are a funny machine as in they can all do most jobs. Lots of good brands and you would be surprised to learn who actually builds some these well known brands machines. I would opt for the coupler and hyd thumb if you plan to do anything other then tile and tile repair. That being said a 50 with the right attachments will do many jobs. We have a Case cx50b (10k lbs ) nice size to haul but strictly for tile I would choose a 15-18k machine for the reach and faster digging speed. ![]() Then you can run thumb and other attachments. We have a gehl 603, and used to have a hitachi ex80 that we sold to a local tiling company. They will do a lot of other work just not as fast as a big machine. I like the 12k to 18k size machines for this kind of work. Posted 14:57 (#6622068 - in reply to #6622043) Subject: RE: mini excavatorsĪnd half of the brands are built by somebody else anyway. We have a Cat 305, there are plenty of good brands. Thinking about buying a mini excavator, what is a good brand? What is a good size? Should it have a thumb, quick tach bucket, auxiliary hydraulic? Will be using it to install short stretch of tile and tile repair. Mini excavators Jump to page : 1 Now viewing page 1 ![]()
